The set of rules for developing greenhouse gas emission reduction project on the carbon market has rapidly grown more and more complex. The amount of rules, guidances and regulations that project proponents have to take into consideration is daunting.
In this environment it has become a steadily growing service of CVDTC to provide initial additionality assessments of projects to ensure that resources are not wasted on project ideas that have little chance of passing the validation and registration procedures given the latest requirements. Monitoring closely the decisions of the Boards provides us with the insight that developers need to make a quick and well-informed decision of the carbon relevance of their project idea.
Given the speed at which rules, guidances and regulations emerge, it is equally relevant at later stages to evaluate the status of a project in terms of eligibility for CDM. We offer an unpartisan evaluation of potential projects and PDDs already developed, allowing a cost-effective decision, before contracting for validation, of the probability of completing validation and registration successfully. CVDTC will never judge on the quality of the PDD, but performs a step-wise, analysis of the evidence provided by the project developer in support of the project’s eligibility as well as evaluating the arguments provided in the PDD compared to the latest rulings by the Executive Board.
