IDC is awarded a contract by the European Commission for a study on emerging donors (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). Caspervandertak Consulting provides the team leader for the team working on this assignment.

Sun Cui-cui (Ivy) is our latest and youngest staff member. Only 22 years old, but with excellent language skills and winner of several English language skills prices, Ivy is fluent in Chinese and English. 14/6/2005: Contract three hydropower projects in Gansu

Caspervandertak Consulting signs contracts for the development of three large hydropower projects in Gansu, with a total annual emission reduction of 2 million tons of CO2.
 

1/6/2005: Caspervandertak Consulting celebrates its first birthday

Today Caspervandertak Consulting celebrated its first birthday. Since our establishment, we became profitable, managed to grow and place staff in Lanzhou (Gansu) and Ulaan Baatar (Mongolia). We obtained contracts from some major clients, including the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the European Commission. Our CDM activities also developed fast, as we started negotiations with buyers in the Netherlands, England, Italy, Austria, Sweden and Japan. For our second year, we plan to expand to a company of 15-20 employees, and to continue to excel in development cooperation and climate change related services in Asia.

 
27/5/2005: Caspervandertak Consulting signs a contract with the Ningxia CDM Service Center to assist in the development of the Helanshan Windpark
Caspervandertak Consulting is happy to be involved in the development of yet another CDM windpark in China: The Helanshan windpark in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. This is a large windpark, planned to be developed in different stages. The main contractor for the windpark is the Ningxia CDM Service Center; Caspervandertak Consulting provides services related to the marketing of the greenhouse gas emission reductions (Certified Emission Reductions) and the writing of the Project Design Document.

21/4/2005: Danish CDM facility in China

Caspervandertak Consulting signs a contract with the Royal Danish Embassy to develop a CDM project facility in China. The purpose of the facility is to develop the Chinese capacity to write Project Design Documents, and to enter into transactions involving certified emission reductions. Caspervandertak Consulting signs a contract with Ecorys to provide the teamleader and a development economist for the review of the European Commission's country strategy papers for China and Mongolia (2002-2006). The country strategy papers are key documents that provide the planning for the EC's development cooperation programming in China respectively Mongolia. The review's purpose is to provide inputs for the next country strategy papers for China and Mongolia.

27/7/2005: Danish CDM Project Development Facility in China receives first project

The Danish CDM Project Development Facility in China received its first project, a small-scale renewable energy project, and enters into negotiations for the purchase of CERs.

 

25/7/2005: Procedures of the Danish CDM Project Development Facility in China finalized

Draft procedures and legal documents of the Danish CDM Project Development Facility in a seminar on CDM in Lanzhou, Gansu Province finalized. Denmark will provide support for the development of CDM projects in China, and will buy CERs from the projects it supports. Its initial price level is set at 6-7 US$, depending on the project and contract conditions.

21/10/2004: Joost van Acht joins Cvdt Consulting

Joost van Acht joins Caspervandertak Consulting as our latest staff member. He was previously employed in several economic research and consultancy companies. Over the last two years he was engaged in academic research in Tokyo, Japan. Joost will be based in Lanzhou, Gansu Province where he will work on donor funded consultancy projects and CDM project development.
